Our verdict

GorillaDesk is a strong fit for recurring, route-based service: pest control, lawn treatments, pool service. Its pricing model is a real advantage if you have office staff, because only technicians on the schedule cost money. It’s the wrong tool for project work or trades outside its core industries.

What GorillaDesk is

GorillaDesk is field service software aimed at pest control, lawn care, pool service and cleaning. Its features follow how route businesses work: routing, recurring billing, material and chemical tracking, and automated customer messages before each visit.

Pricing: per route, not per user

  • Free trial: Free trial offered (length not stated)
  • Extra users: Priced per route, not per user: Basic +$50/mo for routes 2–3 then +$30; Pro +$50/mo per route; Growth +$100 for route 2 then +$50
  • Payment processing: Through your Square or Stripe account
  • Paid add-ons: Texting number $5/mo; Text credits from $50 per 1,000

The key detail: a “route” is one person on the schedule. Admins, managers, sales staff and anyone else who isn’t running a route are free and unlimited. For a three-technician pest company with two office staff, that works out to:

  • Pro: $99 + 2 extra routes × $50 = $199/mo
  • Growth: $149 + $100 (route 2) + $50 (route 3) = $299/mo

Per-user tools would also charge for the two office seats. There are no setup fees or contracts, data migration of basic customer info is free, and paying yearly gets you a month free. Texting needs a $5/mo number plus prepaid text credits, starting at $50 per 1,000.

Which plan fits

  • Basic ($49): invoicing, estimates, simple routing up to 25 stops, Square and Stripe payments, and automated emails and texts. Fine for a solo operator on a fixed route.
  • Pro ($99): the plan most route businesses want. It adds a customer portal, online booking, recurring billing, drive-time routing, review generation, e-signatures, GPS tracking and QuickBooks Online sync.
  • Growth ($149): adds map-based estimating, estimate packages, a sales pipeline and multi-branch support. For businesses actively selling new accounts.

What works

  • Unlimited free office, admin and sales users
  • Recurring billing and routing that suit maintenance routes
  • Material and chemical tracking that pest and lawn pros praise on Capterra
  • No setup fees, no contracts, free basic data migration
  • Owners describe it as replacing part-time admin work

What doesn't

  • Built for pest, lawn, pool and cleaning; a poor fit for project trades
  • Texting costs extra (number plus prepaid credits)
  • Reviewers mention a dated invoice design and a mobile app that struggles on busy days
  • Support experiences are mixed in lawn care forums
  • Trial length isn't stated on the pricing page

What users say

Feedback skews positive on day-to-day use. One r/PestControlIndustry owner compares it to “having a part time employee” that costs a couple hundred dollars a month instead of a couple thousand. Capterra reviewers praise recurring-service handling and chemical tracking. On the other side, a LawnSite forum user found the software decent but complained about customer service. Some reviews also mention bugs and limited automation compared with bigger platforms.

Who should pick something else

  • Mixed or one-off jobs (handyman, pressure washing, remodeling): Jobber or Housecall Pro.
  • Exterior cleaning businesses that quote from measurements: QuoteIQ.

FAQ

How much does GorillaDesk cost?

Basic is $49/mo, Pro $99/mo and Growth $149/mo, each including one route (one scheduled technician). Extra routes cost $30–$100/mo depending on plan. Office, admin, manager and sales users are free. Paying yearly gets you a month free.

Does GorillaDesk charge per user?

No. It charges per route, meaning per person on the schedule. Admins, managers, sales and other non-route users are unlimited and free on every plan.

Is GorillaDesk good for lawn care?

For recurring lawn treatment and maintenance routes, yes. It's built for repeat, route-based service. For project landscaping or one-off jobs, a generalist like Jobber fits better.
