Our picks

  • Best for most small pest control companies: GorillaDesk, from $49 a month per route, with unlimited office users
  • Best if pest control is one of several services you sell: Jobber, from $29 a month billed annually
  • Best for crews of 2–5 who want routes and GPS in one plan: Housecall Pro Essentials, $189 a month or $149 billed annually
  • Only if your work is call-driven, not route-driven: Workiz (prices not published)

Small pest control businesses run on recurring routes: the same customers on a monthly or quarterly cycle, billed without chasing. Three things separate the tools for that work: which plan includes routing and recurring billing, whether the app tracks the materials you apply, and whether you pay per route or per user.

GorillaDesk is the only tool here built for pest control. Jobber and Housecall Pro are general field service platforms, and neither lists pest-specific features such as material or chemical tracking on its pricing page. Workiz is built for phone-driven repair trades. That doesn’t rule the generalists out, but it changes which plan you need.

These picks are based on each vendor’s pricing page (checked October 27, 2026), published plan details and public owner feedback.

Per-route pricing is the biggest difference. GorillaDesk charges by route and lets admins, managers and sales users in free. Jobber and Housecall Pro sell user tiers, and the plan details we track don’t exempt office staff, so count your office manager as a seat.

Per-route vs per-user: the headcount math

  • Solo, no office help: Jobber Core is cheapest on annual billing at $29. But on monthly billing, GorillaDesk Pro ($99) is the cheapest plan here with recurring billing and drive-time routing. Jobber’s automatic payments start at Connect, $139 monthly or $99 annual, and its plan details don’t mention routing.
  • 2 techs plus an office manager: GorillaDesk Pro with 2 routes is $149 a month, and the office manager costs nothing. Jobber Connect’s 5-user tier is $199 ($149 annual), and Housecall Pro Essentials is $189 ($149 annual). Month to month, GorillaDesk is cheapest. On annual billing, all three land at $149.
  • 4 techs plus an office manager: GorillaDesk Pro rises to $249. Jobber Connect and Housecall Pro Essentials stay at $149 on annual billing. Per-user tiers win at this size, as long as the features you need are on those tiers.

That last condition is the catch. On Housecall Pro, recurring service plans and route optimization sit on Max, which costs $150 a month more than Essentials on annual billing. On Jobber, two-way SMS and job costing start at Grow, $299 a month or $229 annual for 5 users.

GorillaDesk is built for recurring route work in pest control, lawn care and pool service, and its price follows routes, not people. Basic ($49 a month for 1 route) covers invoices, estimates and work orders, basic routing up to 25 stops, Square and Stripe payments, automated emails and texts, material tracking and 20 built-in reports. Pro ($99) is the plan most pest companies will want: recurring billing, drive-time routing, a customer portal with online booking, GPS tracking and a time clock, e-signatures, review generation and QuickBooks Online sync. Growth ($149) adds map-based estimating, dynamic estimates and packages, a sales pipeline, custom fields and job statuses, and multi-branch support.

Good fit if

  • Recurring route work: pest control, lawn treatments, pool service
  • Businesses with office staff (admins, managers and sales users are free)

Skip it if

  • One-off project work such as remodeling or handyman jobs
  • Owners who need trades outside pest, lawn, pool and cleaning

What works

  • Built for recurring pest, lawn and pool routes
  • Unlimited office users on every plan
  • Material tracking from the $49 Basic plan
  • Recurring billing and drive-time routing on Pro ($99)

What doesn't

  • Each added route costs $50/mo on Pro
  • No annual discount listed
  • Free trial length not stated
  • Texting number ($5/mo) and text credits (from $50 per 1,000) cost extra

Know what each route costs. Basic adds $50 a month for routes 2 and 3, then $30 per route. Pro adds $50 per route. Growth’s second route is $100, then $50 each, so Growth with 2 routes is $249. Payments run through your own Square or Stripe account, so card fees are whatever that account charges.

Check material tracking against your records. It’s included from Basic, but the plan details we track don’t say which fields it records. If you keep application records for your state, run a few real services during the trial and confirm the report shows what you’re required to log.

Owner feedback lines up with the pitch: in one r/PestControlIndustry thread, a commenter recommended GorillaDesk as the best fit for a small operator’s size and budget.

Skip it if you mostly do one-off project work, you run trades outside pest, lawn, pool and cleaning, or you have several techs and little office staff, where per-user tiers can cost less (see the math above).

Generalists: when pest control isn’t your only service

Best if you sell more than pest control

Jobber

Price
from $29/mo
Free trial
14 days, no credit card (Grow features)
Prices checked

Jobber fits if you sell pest control alongside lawn care, handyman or exterior cleaning and want one app for everything. Core ($49 a month, $29 billed annually, or $21 for the first year on annual prepay) covers quotes, invoices, online booking and scheduling, online payments, a basic website and built-in reports. Connect ($139, or $99 annual, for 1 user) adds automated client reminders, quote and invoice follow-ups, automatic payments, QuickBooks Online sync, and time and expense tracking. Grow adds two-way SMS, job costing and custom workflow automations.

Good fit if

  • Solo operators willing to prepay annually (Core is $29/mo after the first-year promo)
  • Owners who want clients to approve quotes and pay online without phone tag
  • Mixed-trade businesses that don't fit a niche tool

Skip it if

  • Anyone who must stay month-to-month (list prices run 34–69% above the annual rate)
  • Teams that need job costing or two-way texting on a budget (both start at Grow)

What works

  • Strong client side: reminders, follow-ups and online payments
  • Automatic payments and QuickBooks sync from Connect
  • Covers many trades in one app
  • 14-day trial with no credit card

What doesn't

  • Pest control is not among its listed trades
  • Routing and material tracking not specified in plan details
  • Two-way SMS and job costing start at Grow
  • Monthly billing runs well above annual

What we can’t confirm: the Jobber plan details we track don’t mention route optimization, recurring service plans or material tracking. Crew scheduling is named as a Plus feature ($499 a month, or $399 annual, for 5 users). Test your real recurring schedule during the trial, which runs on Grow features. A NiceJob roundup lists Jobber among its picks for small pest control businesses, mainly for automating admin work.

Skip it if you must stay month-to-month: Connect’s 5-user tier costs $600 more a year at monthly rates. Cards are 2.9% + 30¢, and US bank payments are 1%.

Best for crews of 2–5

Housecall Pro

Price
from $59/mo
Free trial
14 days, no credit card (Max plan features)
Prices checked

Housecall Pro puts routes, employee GPS tracking, checklist automations and QuickBooks sync on Essentials ($189, or $149 annual, up to 5 users), which suits a crew of 2–5. Basic ($79, or $59 annual, 1 user) includes scheduling and dispatch, payments with consumer financing, a price book and job costing. For recurring pest work, the key plan is Max ($329, or $299 annual, up to 8 users): that’s where route optimization and recurring service plans appear, along with an open API and dedicated onboarding. Each user past 8 is $35 a month.

Good fit if

  • Crews of 2–5 who want routes, GPS and QuickBooks sync in one mid-tier plan
  • Trades that sell bigger tickets and benefit from built-in consumer financing
  • Owners who build quotes from a standard price book

Skip it if

  • Budget-first solo operators (Basic costs about twice Jobber Core on annual billing)
  • Anyone who wants every cost up front (most add-on prices aren't published)

The recurring-work catch. Essentials has routes, but not recurring service plans or route optimization. Material or chemical tracking isn’t listed on any plan in the data we track. Card processing is advertised as low as 2.59%, depending on payment type, and most add-on prices aren’t published.

Skip it if you’re a budget-first solo operator (Basic costs about twice Jobber Core on annual billing) or you need recurring service plans without paying for Max.

Workiz

Workiz is built for trades that live on the phone, such as locksmiths, garage door and appliance repair, and for businesses that use subcontractors. Standard includes scheduling, jobs, estimates, invoices, online payments, service areas, subcontractor management and QuickBooks integration. For pest control, the relevant plan is Ultimate: that’s where service plans and inventory with purchase orders appear, along with 30 automations and an open API. Calls and two-way texting come through the Genius Phone add-on.

Good fit if

  • Call-driven trades that live on the phone (locksmith, garage door, appliance repair)
  • Businesses that use subcontractors

Skip it if

  • Owners who want to compare prices before talking to sales
  • Anyone who needs more than a week to evaluate (7-day trial)

Prices aren’t published. Every plan is quote on request, add-on prices aren’t listed, and the 7-day trial is the shortest here. Skip it if you run recurring routes and want to compare costs before a sales call, which describes most small pest companies.

Pest-specific platforms such as FieldRoutes also rank for this search. FieldRoutes describes itself as designed for growth. We don’t track its pricing, so we can’t compare it here. QuoteIQ publishes its own guide pitching itself to pest companies. Our QuoteIQ review covers it for exterior cleaning, not pest work. If you also sell lawn treatments, see best lawn care business software.

How to choose

  1. Count routes and people separately. If you have as many office users as techs, GorillaDesk’s per-route pricing usually wins. If you have several techs and little office help, compare Jobber Connect and Housecall Pro Essentials on annual billing.
  2. Find the plan with recurring billing. GorillaDesk Pro ($99), Jobber Connect for automatic payments ($139, or $99 annual), Housecall Pro Max for recurring service plans ($329, or $299 annual), Workiz Ultimate (price on request). That plan’s price is your real price.
  3. Check material tracking against your record-keeping. Only GorillaDesk (from Basic) and Workiz (inventory on Ultimate) list it.
  4. Trial with a real route. Load ten recurring customers, run one day’s route, log materials on one service and let one recurring invoice go out.
  5. Pay monthly until you’re sure, then switch to annual where it’s offered.

For most owner-operators and small pest crews, GorillaDesk is the lowest-risk start: it’s built for recurring routes, office staff are free, and Pro covers recurring billing and drive-time routing for $99 a month on one route.

FAQ

What is the best pest control software for a small business?

For most small pest companies, GorillaDesk: it's built for recurring pest, lawn and pool routes, and Pro ($99/mo per route) includes recurring billing, drive-time routing and QuickBooks Online sync. If pest control is one of several services you sell, Jobber (from $29/mo billed annually) is the more flexible generalist.

Is GorillaDesk cheaper than Jobber?

It depends on headcount. With 2 techs and an office manager, GorillaDesk Pro is $149/mo against $199/mo for Jobber Connect's 5-user tier on monthly billing. On annual billing Jobber matches it at $149, and with 4 techs plus an office manager, Jobber's $149 annual tier beats GorillaDesk Pro's $249.

Which pest control software tracks chemicals or materials?

GorillaDesk includes material tracking on every plan from Basic ($49/mo), and Workiz lists inventory and purchase orders on its Ultimate plan (price on request). The Jobber and Housecall Pro plan details we track don't list material tracking, so confirm it before you commit.

Can I bill recurring pest control customers automatically?

Yes, but the plan varies: GorillaDesk has recurring billing from Pro ($99/mo), Jobber has automatic payments from Connect ($139/mo or $99 annual), Housecall Pro has recurring service plans on Max ($329/mo or $299 annual), and Workiz lists service plans on Ultimate.

Do office staff count as paid users?

Not on GorillaDesk: every plan includes unlimited office users, and you pay per route. Jobber and Housecall Pro price by user tier, and the plan details we track don't exempt office staff, so count them as seats.
